This notebook contains a mix of incomplete items from various research branches. Honestly, I can't make heads or tails of it.
There are some personal letters at the end that are interesting. 10082026210410.jpg

The Pep - 1940-05-22
THE PEP was an informal class directory printed at Berryhill High School in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. In here you will find remarks about every senior class member of the class of 1940.
Berryhill High School was a historic rural school in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, built in 1926 on Old Dowd Road and later converted into an elementary/middle school before the original building was destroyed by fire in November 1970.
History and Timeline
• Opening (1926): Constructed in 1926 as a rural school serving the Berryhill township and surrounding communities (consolidating older schools like Dixie, McIver, Mulberry, and Big Springs).
• High School Era: Operated for decades as Berryhill High School (with yearbooks and student records preserved through the mid-20th century, such as the 1951 Link and Chain yearbook).
• Closure/Transition: Ceased operating as a high school after West Mecklenburg High School was built.
• Destruction by Fire (1970): The original 1926 school building on Old Dowd Road burned down in November 1970.
• Legacy: The name continues through modern community and school references in the Berryhill area of Charlotte-Mecklenburg. 10082026204039.jpg
